College of Business and Development Studies:
The College of Business and Development Studies is located in Bradford, West Yorkshire in the North of England. We offer a range of certificate and diploma courses in the fields of business management, marketing, public relations, human resources. We also offer Level 3 and Level 4 Awards in Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS). These courses are offered online and onsite in the college. The college offers language support for Urdu, Punjabi, and Pushto speakers who wish to take this course.
PTLLS 7303 ONLINE COURSE
Level 4 Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector
PTLLS online course - flexible.
This course is well suited to foreign students and we can provide assistance with language conversion. Face to face online tutoring is available with tutors via Skype, please contact us in-regards to what language and facilitation we can offer in this respect.
The course can be covered in 5 days online with a practise micro teaching workshop completed at a weekend of your choice to complete the course. However if you need to take longer due to work commitments then you can take as long as you like.
All requirements to complete the course are covered and all students should pass the course further to a successful micro teaching session that they have to attend in house.
PTLLS
There are THREE components to the course:
1. Micro teaching (30 minutes)
2. Interaction with our IMLE ‘Interactive Managed Learning Environment’ MOODLE
3. Assignments - one theory and one practical (micro teaching)
The course comprises of the following sections:
Theory completed online over with your allocated tutor, this is online and it requires an Internet connection and a PC at home or work. Course access 24/7 via MOODLE.
Micro teaching workshop at the weekend, venues can be arranged to suit. 10.00am – 2.30pm. Please note that micro teach sessions are charged at 100.00 pounds for the observation. If the micro teaching element is not passed first time then a repeat fee has to be charged until it is completed. .
Entry to the course is via an application form from College.
Progression:
For those working in the teaching sector once you have passed your PTLLS with us you can progress to the DTLLS and this can be achieved over 1 year working in house and over distance via our 'IMLE' Interactive Managed Learning Environment.. This course requires 150 hours teaching work and can sometimes be fully funded by your employer or the local education authority. It is expected that you attend one weekend in every month to attend the workshop.
PTLLS 7303 IN-HOUSE COURSE
NCFE Level 4 Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector
PTLLS in house course and blended learning - 5 days or 8 Weeks (Evening Class)
The course is covered in 5 days in house with a practise micro teaching workshop completed on the 5th day to complete the course.
All requirements to complete the course are covered in the week and all students should pass the course further to a successful micro teaching session.
For those who cannot attend daytimes we have an evening class from 5-15 pm to 8-15 pm every week for 9 weeks, the micro teaching element being delivered on the last week.
PTLLS
There are THREE components to the course:

2. Classes - as above
3. Assignments - one theory and one practical (micro teaching)
The course comprises of the following sections:
Theory completed over 4 days with your tutor, this is classroom based 9am - 4pm.
Micro teaching workshop on the final day. 9-4pm
