Activities for Life, Therapeutic Learning Services is based in beautiful Grand Junction, Mesa County, Colorado. We are a low-cost vocational training school providing comprehensive online paraprofessional training for those wanting to work in the field of Human Services, Therapeutic Recreation, or Psycho-social Care. We offer an online / distance education class as well as classroom-based training that is held in Grand Junction.
- Human Services Training
Activities for Life, Therapeutic Care Training, trains students to work entry level in the field of Human Services. Students will train in how Human Services work: care plans, regulations, assessments, etc.
- Work Within a Team of Professionals
Students will also learn how to work within a team of other professionals as Human Service professionals do; in what is called a Multidisciplinary Team.
- Assess Your Client's Needs
Students will also learn to assess client's needs in order of importance and need. Students will learn about professional boundaries, ethics, and how to keep client's needs as foremost.
Director, Veronica Herrera, B.A., teaches live classes in Grand Junction and surrounding cities. Ms. Herrera has over 16 years of experience in the field of Psychosocial care and Therapeutic Recreation, and in Human Services. Ms. Herrera states she "has a passion for improving the lives of students so that they can in turn make a difference in the lives of clients' served".
Ms. Herrera believes, "Every stage and state of live has potential for meaning and joy", and this is why she has researched and taught psychosocial care for her entire career. "Students can bypass high tuitions and seemingly endless student loan payments to get a qualify vocational training, that they feel good about",
Our goal is to train students to work with those with special needs (elderly and children included) by providing an OBRA-based Vocational Certificate Program which is ideal for Activity Assistants, Human Services, and Special Needs Assistants.
