Northwest Community College, Continuing Education / Industry Training (CEIT):
Based in North-West British Columbia, Northwest Community College (NWCC) is a publicly funded, government accredited, public post-secondary educational institution that provides online Certificate & Diploma programs in fields including Business Technology, Business Administration, Early Childhood Education, and Information & Communication Technology. Our distance learning programs prepare students for general and specialized administrative support positions in a variety of business, education, and IT settings.
Provincially-Accredited Online Certificate & Diploma Programs:
Applied Business Technology
This program prepares students for general and specialized administrative support positions in a variety of business settings. Classes are offered full or part time with the support of online instructors. This program has a flexible intake pending course availability, allowing students to create a personalized schedule.
Business Administration (Certificate & Diploma options)
Business Administration consists of a Certificate (year one) program and a Diploma (year two) program with concentrated studies in accounting, human resources or general management.
The certificate and diploma programs prepare students to pursue a range of careers in accounting and financial management, banking, insurance, purchasing, entrepreneurship, marketing, tourism, government, not-for-profit and international business.
Early Childhood Education
Northwest Community College offers 3 levels of Early Childhood Education:
- Basic Level Certificate Program,
- Post Basic Certificate Programs (Infant/Toddler, Special Needs, and First Nations Program Specialization)
- ECE Diploma (earned when students complete 2 of the following modules: Infant/Toddler, Special Needs and First Nations Programs Specialization.)
The program is offered in a distance format consisting of audio teleconference, weekend seminars, practical field work and online learning. This multi-mode format recognizes the importance of learning in your own community.
Information & Communications Technology (Certificate & Diploma options)
The IT sector is full of job opportunities and the new Information and Communications Technology Certificate has been developed to get you into the workforce in as little as one year. The program is offered through the Information and Communications Technology program using online course delivery.
Study full or part-time, work toward a certificate or diploma or just take only those courses that interest you. Courses are scheduled throughout the year and are from seven to fifteen weeks in length.
