Fashion Accessories: Unique Apparel Accents and Commercial Course:
In this course, students learn how to create sets of matching fashion accessories for various outfits which allow you to express your personal taste and to be dressed in your own style.

By the end of the course, students have confidence in handling Plexiglass, and the required tools and equipment using safety precautions.

Handcrafted Costume Jewelry:
This jewelry course offers the practical knowledge of researching, sketching and making by hand decorative costume jewelry.

Students have the choice of designing and making a piece or pieces of jewelry using their own ideas, or reproducing historical or ethnic-types of jewelry.

Restoration of Antique Ceramics:
This hands-on ceramics restoration course introduces a wide variety of techniques, materials and applications used in the field of restoration of porcelain and other types of ceramic objects of art.

The Jewelry Arts Institute in New York

Courses / Programs

The Jewelry Arts Institute (JAI) in New York has been committed to researching, preserving and teaching the jewelry making techniques of the Classical Period for over 30 years, passing on these nearly lost traditions to students from all corners of the world. Located at 22 East 49th Street in Midtown Manhattan, we teach all classical jewelry techniques in every class. These techniques are granulation in silver and 22k gold, Byzantine enameling, classical chain making, classical settings, lapidary and other related techniques.

Since all projects are taught by one-on-one demonstration, students of all levels can be enrolled in all classes. This is true for both the semester classes and the intensive workshops. We have a teacher for every five or six students so the student receives a lot of attention. If a student were to complete all of the many projects we have developed, he/she would end up with a complete background of classical jewelry techniques.
