Excel Health Careers CNA Training, Tacoma & Des Moines:
With two training facilities in Tacoma and Des Moines WA, Excel Health Careers CNA Training provides a fully-accredited three-week Certified Nursing Assistant training program, as well as shorter-term Nurse Delegation, First Aid and HIV Prevention programs. Opened in 2002, Excel Health Careers CNA Training is fully-licensed by the state of Washington. Classes are designed to give students flexible options - with day, evening, and weekend classes available from both of our training facilities.

Accredited Certified Nursing Assistant & Healthcare Programs:

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Training Program (3-weeks)
This class educates students in aiding or performing the activities of daily living (ADL) for residents/patients/clients. ADL are activities such as grooming, bathing, toileting, and feeding. After successfully completing the course, students can sit the State exam and this leads to eventual certification as a nurse assistant by the State.

Various employers, such as Adult Family Homes, Assisted Living Homes, Nursing Homes, Outpatient Clinics, Hospitals etc, employ CNAs. Also, most LPN-RN and RN programs require the applicant to have some experience as a CNA

First Aid / CPR Training (7 hours)
The class equips students with skills and knowledge needed to deal with emergencies before the arrival of rescue personnel. Every CNA student is required to attend a CPR/FA class prior to clinical.

HIV / AIDS Prevention Program
This training shall involve concepts and procedures (standards of care) related to the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, management and patient counseling for sexually transmitted disease (STD) and for prevention of HIV infection.

This training, is offered not only to clinicians working within an STD clinic setting, but to all physicians, mid-level providers and laboratorians involved in the management of STDs and HIV infection. These settings include private practice, health maintenance organizations, community health centers, family planning clinics and hospital-based clinics.

Nurse Delegation with emphasis on Diabetes (Self-Study)
This is a self-study course and the school is provides reading material. The class equips a Nurse Assistant with skills to allow him/her to be delegated some tasks that are normally done by a licensed nurse.

These tasks include giving out medication, testing blood sugar, gastronomy feeds, etc. After completing the class, the student is tested and if he/she passes the school issues a certificate.

Nurse Delegation for Nursing Assistants (Self-Study)
