New York Academy of Art:
The New York Academy of Art in Manhattan is a private, not-for-profit art university offering Master of Fine Arts degree programs with concentrations in drawing, painting and sculpture to U.S. and International students. The New York Academy of Art also offers continuing education opportunities as well as a degree-path curriculum. At the New York Academy of Art, we believe that the world of visual art is built upon the essential cornerstones of figurative drawing, painting, and sculpture. Mastering these disciplines is critical to the development of an artist's personal vision and, ultimately, to the creation of vital contemporary art.

The Academy is located at 111 Franklin Street, between Church Street and West Broadway in the lower Manhattan historic district of TriBeCa, once a commercial area and the city's primary distribution center for textiles and dry goods. New York City is composed of five boroughs – Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, and Staten Island. Manhattan is the borough most associate with “the city.” Most affordable housing can be found in the other four boroughs as well as New Jersey (Jersey City or Hoboken). New York City, one of the world’s great art capitals, promises an endless stream of inspiring places, people, events and stories for artists. No other city offers as many renowned galleries and museums, including The Metropolitan Museum of Art, where the Academy has permission to conduct painting classes.
