Study Abroad:
College of the Atlantic offers a number of opportunities to study abroad. The goal of the International Studies Program is to extend the our Human Ecology curriculum into international and intercultural settings. We seek to carry out interdisciplinary and collaborative teaching and learning in a variety of field settings. Students travel with faculty on field courses in Mexico, Guatemala, Canada, and the Caribbean as well as conduct internships and independent study around the globe. In a typical graduating class well over fifty percent of our graduates have participated in some sort of international program.

Internships & Career Services:
A COA internship is required as part of each student's academic program and is as varied as each individual human ecologist. The COA internship is a practical exercise in applying academics to the world of work. The goals of an internship are to expose each student to the experience of :

- Carrying out the duties and responsibilities of a job
- Participating as part of a larger community work force
