Allied Health / Medical Career Training Programs:
Our courses may be started at any time during the year. There are no specific start times. To apply to the school, an applicant must be 16 years of age or older. All programs are taught in English only. Day, evening and weekend options are available.
- Medical Billing and Coding Specialist Diploma Program:
The Medical Insurance Billing and Coding Program prepares the student for Entry-Level employment to process insurance claims that have become the life support of the medical office. There are a dozen roles that the student can fulfill in this growing area that includes patient and administration contact, working with computers, and accounting tasks. Specific duties center on: data collection from patients, hospitals, laboratories and physicians; diagnostic and procedure coding; timely generation of claims to maximize cash flow for the medical practice; keeping up to date on insurance plans, rules and regulations; bookkeeping transactions and follow-up on claims.
Upon successful completion of the program, the student will receive a diploma. This course will offer student an optional opportunity to become nationally certified by the NHA, (National Healthcare Association).
Duration: 80 Clock Hours
- Day Program - 4 weeks (16 days): Monday through Thursday - 9:00 A.M - 2:20 P.M.
- Evening Program - 7 weeks (20 days): Monday through Wednesday - 5:00 P.M - 9:20 P.M.
- Certified Nurse's Aide (CNA) Program:
This comprehensive Nurse's Aide Program was created to develop the skills and knowledge necessary to obtain an entry-level position as a Nurse's Aide in a health care facility. The training program will provide the student with both basic knowledge and practical experience in the terminology, procedures, and techniques required of a Nurse's Aide. This training program meets the Connecticut Department of Health Services guideline for eligibility to take the State certification exam for Nurse's Aides.
This course is divided into two parts: on-site courses and clinical experience. Fifity-five (55) hours of the course are taught in a classroom setting at 3885 Main Street, Bridgeport, CT 06606. Forty-five (45) hours are spent in one of our clinical sites. Students will be exposed to varied patient population, many types of medical equipment, and to professionals in the health field, which will provide a strong foundation for entering the Nurse's Aide profession.
Duration: 100 Instructional hours, 55 Hours Classroom - 45 Hours Clinical
- Day Program - 3 weeks: Monday through Friday - 7:30 A.M - 2:30 P.M.
- Evening Program - 7 weeks: Monday through Friday - 5:00 P.M - 9:00 P.M.
- Weekend Program - 13 Saturdays: 8:30 A.M. - 4:30 P.M.
- Phlebotomy Technician Certificate Program:
This comprehensive Phlebotomy Technician course was created to develop the skills and knowledge necessary to obtain an entry-level position as a Phlebotomy Technician. The training will prepare students in the collection, processing and distribution of laboratory specimens according to established procedures. Emphasis will be placed on safety standards, legal and ethical considerations, as well as quality control procedures.
As a graduation requirement for this program, students must perform 5 live unaided successful vein punctures and 10 unaided successful capillary collection procedures on their classmates. The completion of the 5/10 procedures can be applied to eligibility requirements for certifications, such as the National Healthcare Association Certification. Additional fees may apply to the National Certification exams.

- Day Program - 3 weeks (15 Days): Monday through Friday - 7:30 A.M - 3:00 P.M.
- Evening Program - 7 weeks (25 Days): Monday through Thursday - 5:00 P.M - 9:20 P.M.
- Weekend Program - 15 Saturdays: 7:30 A.M. - 3:00 P.M.
