Polytechnic Institute of New York University, an affiliate of New York University (NYU), is New York City’s most comprehensive school of engineering, technology, applied sciences, and research. In addition to our main campus at MetroTech Center in downtown Brooklyn, we offer undergraduate and graduate degree programs at sites in Long Island, Manhattan, and Westchester County. Accreditation:
All undergraduate and graduate programs at Polytechnic Institute of NYU are accredited by the Middle States Association. Undergraduate engineering programs are accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET). The undergraduate program in computer science is accredited by the Computer Science Accreditation Board (CSAB), and the undergraduate chemistry program is approved by the American Chemical Society (ACS).
A $130-million upgrade to the MetroTech on which our campus is located is reflected in:
- A newly-constructed academic building
- A modern residence hall
- A new athletic facility and new labs
- Wireless networking
- New computer labs with high-end workstations for research, 3D modeling, etc.
The Bern Dibner Library of Science and Technology offers:
- More than 190,000 titles, 200,000 volumes, numerous serials, online databases, CD-ROM learning tools and multimedia resources; and
- Access to the Online Computer Library Center’s international database with over 4,000 participating libraries.
NYU-Poly’s affiliation with New York University will evolve over time, allowing for more and more shared resources. Currently, students have access to several of NYU’s libraries, including its main library, Bobst. Access to other resources and services — from academic to social to study abroad programs — are expected to become available in the near future.
