Human Resources
The most valuable resources of any business are the people who work there – the human resources. Business and government leaders now recognize that human resources must be managed more effectively if companies are to increase productivity in today’s competitive market. Human Resources graduates have been trained to assist in the HR development process. The student also has an opportunity in the program of taking a minor area of study in any of the following areas: accounting, marketing, or information systems.

Communicative Disorders Assistant
This program prepares students to work in an adjunctive capacity to qualified Speech- Language Pathologists or Audiologists with diverse populations in a variety of service settings. The program is based on developing a firm understanding of physiological and functional speech, language, and hearing disorders along with the necessary skills of intervention and programming. Emphasis is placed on preparing the graduate to implement remediation once the registered clinician has assessed the client and determined the appropriate treatment goals and strategies. The comprehensive, competency based field placements provide students with opportunities to develop and practise these skills during an entire semester.

Veterinary Technology
This three-year program has an excellent nationwide reputation for producing highly skilled graduates who fit easily into a biomedical research setting or a veterinary clinic setting. Our graduates leave with excellent scientific training as well as the practical laboratory and veterinary technical skills needed in today’s workplace. Applicants with post-secondary science credits may be eligible for direct entry to second semester.

Degree programs include:

Behavioural Psychology
This program is the first undergraduate degree in Canada that provides a comprehensive program of studies in the rapidly growing field of Behavioural Psychology. This four-year degree will provide classroom instruction, as well as 1,100 hours of supervised placements in three different community agencies. 

Nursing
This four-year baccalaureate program is offered in collaboration with Laurentian University. It will prepare graduates to practice according to the entry-to-practice standards of the College of Nurses of Ontario. All four years of the program will be offered at each campus of St. Lawrence College with the degree being granted by Laurentian University. Graduates will be eligible to write the provincial examinations to be registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario. Nursing involves caring for individuals and families across their lifespan, focusing on health promotion, prevention of illness, and treatment in collaboration with many other health-care professionals. Nursing is a profession that provides opportunities for specialization, leadership and decision-making within many health-care settings.
