Los Angeles ORT College:
Located east of Beverly Hills, Los Angeles ORT Technical Institute, affiliated with ORT Operations USA, is a Technical Vocational Facility dedicated to providing affordable technology based education to the community. All technical programs taught at the school prepare graduates for high-demand occupations with proven career growth opportunities. Our students receive the necessary business and technical skills that lead to employment. Intensive programs are available morning, afternoon and evening. Programs are designed with the assistance of our Industry Advisory Board who represent the area's business and industry.
Our career training and certification programs include:
Degree in Accounting:The Institute's Accounting Program, The Associates of Applied Science (AAS) Degree curriculum, is designed to meet the needs of the bookkeeping and accounting with greater emphasis on financial statements and account management. The (AAS) degree program also includes courses such as merchandise and payroll accounting, cost accounting, depreciation, partnership, tax preparation, corporate accounting, creating reports, and database management applications.
Degree in Business Management:
The Institute's Degree in Business Management, The Associates of Applied Science (AAS) Degree curriculum, is designed to meet the needs of individuals who need to work in business setting. The emphasis is learning computer skills, accounting applications, accounting for servicing business, and for merchandise.
Computerized Accounting:
The Institute's Computerized Accounting Program is designed to prepare students for entry-level microcomputer support roles in business accounting and any office setting: government, medical, retail and financial services industries and more. Emphasis is placed on the use of the microcomputer to increase productivity in financial applications, using software such as spreadsheets, accounting packages and database management systems.
Computer Aided Design and Drafting:The Institute's CADD Program is designed to prepare students in computer aided drafting to become proficient entry level CADD operators using the AutoCAD program. The Program covers all of the corresponding 2D CADD functions for traditional drafting, as well as advanced 3D modeling, made available by CADD.
Computer Graphics and Desktop Publishing:
The Computerized Graphics Program is designed to prepare you for employment as an entry-level Desktop Publisher and Computer Graphics Designer, plus Web and Video/Studio designer. Thorough basic skills are emphasized in order to prepare you for the "real world" of electronic publishing and graphics design.
Administrative Assistant Certificate Program:
The Administrative Assistant Certificate Program prepares you to become proficient entry-level in general office work with advanced computer skills. The certificate program affords the student a knowledge of the entire Microsoft Office suite plus business communication, writing and procedural skills.
Degree in Medical Office Management:
The Institute's Medical Office Management Program is designed to prepare you for entry-level medical office support roles. Emphasis is placed on general secretarial skills, medical office knowledge and front office and back noninvasive procedures.
Pharmacy Technician:
The Institute's Pharmacy Technician program is designed and built on actual pharmacy technician performance expectations. After an orientation of pharmacy practice students learn the computer’s role in both institutional and retail pharmacy settings. Students learn prescription receipt and screening for completeness and accuracy, medication preparation in sterile and nonsterile environments, supply distribution, and more.
Medical Assistant Program:
The Institute's Medical Assistant program has an overall objective to prepare the student for an entry level position in the medical field with an emphasis on back office clinical procedures. Students become certified in CPR as well as taking a patients temperature, pulse, repiration, blood pressure, weight and measurment.
