You will live and study in the World Heritage Site city of Bath in Somerset, in the south-west of England, approximately 2 hours west of London. Your private English lessons are taught in the informal surroundings of your high quality Homestay accommodation. Your teacher comes to your Homestay every day for your English lessons, so you will not need to travel to school. Beaconsfield School of English, which is near London, is the sister school of BSE Bath School of English.

Our teachers use a communicative approach aimed at increasing your confidence in using English and improving your fluency. We teach General English levels from Beginner to Advanced, and your course book and other materials will be selected by your teacher according to your level. The levels we teach are based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
The main aim of your General English course is to help you quickly improve your English for general, everyday situations and contexts. In your One to One lessons, your teacher will encourage you to communicate face-to-face in English, rather than focusing too much on text based activities. This communicative approach is aimed at increasing your confidence in using English and improving your fluency. On successful completion of your course you will receive an End of Course Certificate indicating your current level of English and recommendations.
IELTS Exam Preparation:
For students applying to study at a university where the main language of instruction is English, we offer intensive IELTS preparation courses, which focus in particular on developing Academic Reading and Academic Writing skills.
Combine your English course with the Arts or Sport:
You study English in the mornings, then after lunch you take your selected option. Choose from Painting (art lessons with a professional artist), the Arts (accompanied visits to national art galleries and museums), golf or tennis.
