The Embassy provides consular services in the following areas:

• Registration of Nigerians abroad;
• Passports (renewal, cancellation);
• Issuance of travel document (emergency travel certificate);
• Issuance of marriage related documents (single certificate, age declaration and notification of marriage);
• Authentication/certification of documents;
• Issuance of visas.

Business, Visitor, Tourist, Transit visas are available to citizens of all countries except ECOWAS Nationals who do not require visa to visit Nigeria and other countries which Nigeria has entered into visa abolition agreements with.

Tourist visa requirements:

• Passport (has to have 6 months validity at the time of application. For foreign nationals, re-entry permit may be necessary)
• 2 Passport-size Photograph (3.5 x 4.5 cm)
• Duly Completed Application Form
• Paid visa fee
• Letter in English explaining reason for visit and place(s) of interest applicant wants to visit in Nigeria
• Copy of the return ticket or proof of flight reservation
• Evidence of sufficient funds
• Evidence of Hotel Reservation
• Travellers are advised to take anti-malarial drugs

Visa processing time is 2-3 days from receipt of application.

The Embassy is closed on Saturdays, Sundays and Nigerian/Japanese Public Holidays.
