Services provided by the Consular Section of the Embassy:
- Assistance to Chinese citizens abroad in cases of emergency.
- Issuance of visas;
- Power of attorney;
- Issuance of passports;
- Notarial services.
Once the passport is lost, the bearer should report the loss to the nearest Chinese embassy or consulate or other authorized institutions and apply for replacement of the passport. The applicant should provide certificates of his nationality and of his lawful staying status, and a detailed written report of the loss of his passport and other materials as required by the authority.
Tourist visa requirements:
- Filled in visa application form;
- Original passport (valid for more than 6 months, with 2 blank pages) and a copy;
- Photograph (4 cm x 3 cm);
- Residence permit in Japan;
- Round trip ticket;
- Hotel reservation;
- Invitation letter.
However, Japanese citizens do not need visas to visit Hong Kong or Macau for stays of up to 90 days.
The Embassy is closed on Japanese and Chinese holidays.
