Jacobs University Bremen is a private, independent university in Germany. Opened in 2001, Jacobs University awards bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees in the natural sciences, engineering, and the humanities and social sciences. Admission to Jacobs University Bremen is highly selective and the language of instruction is English. Scholarships are available to students of any nationality. More than 1500 students from 120 countries are pursuing their studies at the university’s 34-hectare tree-lined campus in northern Bremen. They also qualify students to continue their studies in master’s or doctoral programs. To achieve the goal of transdisciplinarity, students must participate in special courses in which two professors, one from each school, treat a topic using cross-disciplinary team teaching. Additionally, students must supplement their major studies with courses from the other school.
