For all non-emergency visits to the U.S. Embassy in Copenhagen for American Citizen Services, one must schedule an appointment. Not all services require a visit to the Embassy.
Report the loss of the passport to the local police and obtain a copy of the police report. You must present the report at the Embassy. This applies to both lost and stolen passports.
You need to present proof of identity and proof of U.S. citizenship. Proof of identity should include your photo, such as a driver's license. Proof of citizenship would be the original U.S. birth certificate (or Consular Report of Birth Abroad), Certificate of Naturalization, Certificate of Citizenship, or an old canceled U.S. passport.
The Visa Waiver Program (VWP) enables citizens of participating countries to travel to the United States for tourism or business for 90 days or less without obtaining a U.S. visa. Denmark participates in the VWP.
The Embassy is closed on Danish and American public holidays.
