Consular Section of the Embassy provides these services:
- Issues passports, ID cards;
- Registers Turkish citizens living abroad;
- Issues civil status certificates (birth, marriage, death);
- Deals with Turkish citizenship matters;
- Provides notarial services;
- Assists with legal issues;
- Issues visas.
In case of lost/stolen Turkish passport abroad, Turkish nationals must report it to the local police station.
Official Norwegian passport holders are exempt from visa for their travels to Turkey up to 90 days. Ordinary Norwegian passport holders are required to have visa to enter Turkey. They can obtain three month-multiple entry e-visas and stay in Turkey up to 90 days within 6 months starting from the first entry date. It should be noted that e-visa is only valid when the purpose of travel is tourism or commerce.
According to Law on Foreigners and International Protection Article 7, ordinary Norwegian passports are required to be valid for at least sixty days after the expiry date for visa, visa exemption or residence permit. This regulation will be applied for travels to Turkey as from 1 January 2015.
The Embassy is closed on weekends and public holidays.
