The Embassy provides these Consular services:

  • Validates translations;
  • Provides power of attorney services;
  • Provides notarial services;
  • Legalizes documents;
  • Registers Spanish citizens abroad;
  • Assists Spanish citizens in cases of emergency.

In case of lost or stolen Spanish passport, Spanish Embassy or Consulate may issue an emergency pass to return to Spain. Spanish citizens who lost their passport in Romania should report it to the local police.

In order to travel to Spain citizens of certain nationalities must be in possession of a visa when, according to European Community regulations, they are subject to such requirement. 

For non-EU legal residents of Romania, the Uniform (Schengen) visas must be applied for at the Spanish Embassy in Bucharest. For non-EU legal residents of the Republic of Moldova, the visa may be requested either in the Spanish Embassy in Bucharest or in the Spanish Embassy of the Czech Republic in Chisinau (Republic of Moldova).

Citizens of Romania do not need visas to travel to Spain.

From the 28th of April 2014 citizens of the Republic of Moldova, owners of a biometrical passport, will not need a short-entry visa.

The Embassy is closed on public holidays.
