The Embassy provides these consular services:

• Issues visas;
• Issues passports;
• Registers Korean citizens abroad;
• Deals with military service matters;
• Deals with civil status affairs;
• Provides notarial services;
• Issues criminal record certificates;
• Deals with nationality matters;
• Deals with overseas voting matters.

In case of lost passport, South Korean citizens should report the loss to the local police and obtain a police notification. This notification will be needed when applying for an emergency passport at the South Korean Embassy.

Requirements for a short-term tourist visa valid for 90 days:

• A completed application Form/Passport (valid for a minimum period of 6 months from the date of entry into Korea) + a copy of passport/ Visa Fee.
• If not Swedish, residence Permit: valid for a minimum period of 6 months from the date of entry into Korea.
• Round Trip Flight Ticket.
• Hotel Reservation.
• Bank Statement (The required amount is US$1,000 per month).
• Certificate of Employment in Sweden.
• Travel Plan (1 page).
• Visa 1 photo requirements: Photo size: 3.5 x 4.5 cm on white background; Must be in color; The size of the face should be approximately 2.5 x 3.5 cm; Should be less than 6 months old.

The usual process time for a Korean visa application is 2 weeks from the day all required documents have been submitted. Please note that the process time for applications sent by postal way is longer than for applications submitted in person at the embassy.

All original documents that are not in English shall be provided with an English translation.

The Embassy does not accept credit cards - only cash.

The Embassy is closed on Korean and Swedish national holidays.
