With effect from 8 Dec 2014, the Singapore Embassy in Beijing and Singapore Consulate-General offices in Chengdu, Guangzhou, Shanghai and Xiamen will cease to accept walk-in visa applications. Visa applications should be submitted through Authorised Visa Agents.
The Embassy provides assistance to Singaporeans who lost or had their passports stolen while visiting China.

Singaporeans who lost their passports while travelling in China should first report the loss to a neighborhood police post or the relevant Chinese authority (it is usually the local Entry-Exit Administration Bureau). Please request a copy of the Loss of Passport Report. For Entry-Exit Administration Bureau in Beijing, the address is: No. 2 An Ding Men Dong Dajie Dongcheng District, Beijing 100007, Tel: + (86) (10) 8402 0101.
Together with the report from the Police or the relevant authority, please approach the Embassy with one passport-sized photograph (instant photography is acceptable). The person concerned should also show documentary evidence of his/her citizenship (the document should preferably have your photo on it, e.g. NRIC or driving license), if available.
Documents required in support of visa application:
- Passport and a photocopy of the applicant’s passport bio-date page. At least 6 months’ validity.
- Form 14A: One set (Original) of duly completed form (in English) and signed by the applicant in person per application.
- Passport-sized coloured photographs: Two sets (one to be affixed onto the Form and the other for scanning purpose).
- Original and a photocopy of the identity card.
- Visa application fee.
- If the applicant is employed, an original letter from the employer granting leave of absence and stating the duration of employment, designation and salary, is required. The letter must provide the name, address, telephone number(s) and fax number(s) of the company. The letter must also be stamped with the official stamp of the company.
- An applicant who is unemployed must produce documents e.g. Certificate of bank deposit, (original and photocopy), so as to reflect his/her actual economic capability. There is no minimum requirement on the amount of money needed on the certificate of bank deposit but the certificate issuance date must be within 1 month of the visa submission date.
- Household Booklet. Every page of the whole booklet (original & photocopy). For group household register, please either provide the original & photocopy or approach the Public Security Bureau or local police station to produce a certificate/letter.
Visa processing time is generally 3 working days (including the day of submission by Authorised Visa Agent).
The Embassy is closed on Saturdays, Sundays, Public Holidays in China and Singapore National Day on 9 August.
