The Consular Affairs department is responsible for everything concerning travel documents, nationality legislation, consular assistance, office of notary, registry office and, if necessary, the assistance for Dutch citizens in need.

Consular section of the Embassy provides services related to the following matters:

• Adoption;
• Asylum seekers and refugees;
• Child birth;
• Civic integration examination abroad;
• Consulary declarations and legalisation autograph;
• Driver's license;
• Dutch nationality;
• Dutch passport, ID card;
• Legalisation of documents;
• Marriage;
• Notarial acts;
• Registration when staying abroad.

Although it is not required to report the loss of Dutch passport to the local police, it is recommended to do so. Nearest Dutch Embassy or Consulate can help obtain a new passport or temporary travel document (emergency passport or laissez passer).

The Netherlands Embassy in Oslo does not issue (transit) visa and residence permits for the Netherlands. Please address the Netherlands Embassy in Stockholm. All visa-applications are handled there.

Citizens of Norway do not need a visa to visit Netherlands for a stay of up to 90 days and a visa for the Caribbean parts of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

The Embassy is closed on weekends and Norwegian and Dutch official holidays.
