NOTE: It is not possible to apply for a Dutch passport at this Embassy. One can apply at one of the Netherlands' Embassies in the region, for example the Netherlands' Embassy in Helsinki, Stockholm or Warsaw. You can also apply at one of the municipalities in the Netherlands' authorized to receive and process passport applications from non-resident Dutch citizens.

In some countries, you can also apply for a Dutch identity card at the embassy or consulate - as long as you reside in the territory served by the embassy or consulate and are not listed on a municipal population register in the Netherlands. You may have both a Dutch passport and identity card. An identity card is cheaper than a passport, but is not accepted as a valid travel document in every country in the world.  You must appear in person at the embassy or consulate to apply for a Dutch travel document and - aside from in exceptional cases - to collect it.

Dutch nationals who reside abroad are not obliged to register with the Dutch mission. Registration is voluntary.  The mission will not register your details if, for instance, you come to apply for a new passport. If you are no longer registered with the Dutch municipal personal records database (GBA), you are expected to register with the foreign municipality where you reside.  The mission sometimes keep a mailing list for circulating general information, promoting trade, and sending messages about events such as King's Day and Sinterklaas celebrations. You will not be registered for this unless you give the mission explicit consent.

Holders of an EEA (EU Member States, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway) or Swiss passport do not require a visa. Nationals from EU-countries as well as Switzerland and Liechtenstein may stay for an unlimited time. Holders of Latvian Passports (European Union) do not need a visa for Netherlands. There are no restrictions on the remaining validity of ones passport, providing the traveler leaves Netherlands before its expiry date.

The Embassy is closed on the following holidays:
