Tasks of the Embassy are to uphold the country's sovereignty; foster friendly relations with countries under the Embassy's accreditation; develop and defend Malaysia's interests in the international arena; ensure the safety and interests of Malaysians in Romania, Moldova, Greece and Bulgaria; extend excellent and efficient services to the Embassy's clients.
Services provided by the Embassy:
- Passport renewal;
- Issuance of birth/marriage certificates;
- Registration of Malaysians;
- Issuance of good conduct certificates;
- Issuance of visas;
- Travel advice.
Only a few Malaysian Missions overseas are given the authority to issue travelling documents / passport to Malaysians abroad. For missions without the authority, applications can still be made through Malaysian Mission which would then submit the application to the Immigration Department of Malaysia in Putrajaya.
Citizens of Romania do not need visas for stays in Malaysia of up to 90 days.
Citizens of other countries who do require visas to visit Malaysia must provide the following documentation:
- 2 copies of visa forms, duly filled;
- 2 passport-sized photographs;
- Confirmed return air ticket;
- Passport/travel document with 6 months validity period;
- Financial proof to support oneself.
The Embassy is closed on weekends and public holidays.
