The Consular Office of the Malaysian High Commission provides all the standard consular services, such as assistance to Malaysian citizens with travel documents, legal issues, and various emergencies. The Consular Office also offers information and assistance with visas and other travel to Malaysia related issues to the New Zealand citizens.

The Malaysian High Commission is able to issue and assist with various visas.  A visa is an endorsement in a passport or other recognized travel document of foreigner indicating that the holder has applied for permission to enter Malaysia and that permission has being granted. Visa which has been granted is not absolute guarantee that the holder will be allowed to enter Malaysia. The final decision lies with the Immigration Officer at the entry point. Holder of travel document other than National Passport such as Certificate of Identity must apply for a Visa to enter Malaysia. Validity of visa is to be used within 3 months from the date of issued.

NOTE: Personal cheque will not be acceptable. Visa fees payable in bank cheque to the High Commission of Malaysia.

All Malaysians residing in New Zealand are strongly advised to register with the High Commission in Wellington or the Consulate in Christchurch in view of the frequency of natural and man-made disasters worldwide. Information gathered during registration would facilitate expeditious consular assistance and easy access to communication with the next-of-kin in case of Emergency.
