The Republic Macedonia and the Czech Republic enjoy excellent and strong bilateral relations based on shared values of peace, freedom, rule of law, and a free market economy. The two peoples are also linked by long historical and cultural tradition dating back to the times of the Moravian mission of Ss. Cyril and Methodius. Today, Czech Republic is Macedonia's most active friend and partner in NATO and the European Union. The Republic of Macedonia highly appreciates the consistent and vocal support of the Czech Republic in meeting the strategic goals, membership in NATO and the European Union.
