The Consular Section of the Embassy provides the following services:

• issuance of repatriation certificates,
• processing documents for the replacement and issuance of Lithuanian passports,
• performing notarial acts,
• processing documents for the registration of marriages, births, deaths or other acts of civil status in the Republic of Lithuania,
• issuance of consular certificates, etc.

The Lithuanian Embassy can assist with the following:

• Issue repatriation certificates;
• Issue consular certificates for the citizens of the Republic of Lithuania who lost their driving license abroad or vehicles register certificates for the purpose of returning to Lithuania;
• Accept applications for the citizenship of the Republic of Lithuania;
• Process applications for the issuance/replacement of passports of the Republic of Lithuania;
• Process declarations of the place of residence from the citizens of the Republic of Lithuania who are living abroad for more than 6 months;
• Accept requests to register acts of civil status such as marriage, birth, divorce etc. of citizens of the Republic of Lithuania;
• Perform notarial acts;
• Perform consular legalization of the documents;
• Provide information and issue permits to transport human remains in a coffin to Lithuania;
• If necessary, visit citizens of the Republic of Lithuania in prisons;
• Request that the citizens of the Republic of Lithuania who are arrested or convicted abroad are treated according to local and international law and have the same treatment as local citizens;
• Issue Schengen and national visas;

All persons wishing to apply for a Schengen visa to visit Lithuania must make an appointment online in advance. Applicants must not attend the Embassy without first making an appointment, as admission will not be possible. This also applies to applicants using Electronic Visa Application Form.

Please note that the last visa applicant is allowed into the premises at 15.50 strictly.

Every applicant needs to book an appointment for the renewal of a Lithuanian passport. The list of requirements for the renewal of an old passport:

• 2 photos (3,5 x 4,5 cm), see more information on the website of the Personalization of Identity Documents Centre under the Ministry of the Interior.
• Old passport or ID card (in case it is lost/stolen, the notification is filled and signed at the Embassy).
• Consular fee - 90 GBP (45 GBP for children under 18 years old).

The renewal of the old, lost/stolen or obtaining the first Lithuanian passport takes 1-2 months from the submission of an application.
