Citizens and non-citizens of the Republic of Latvia, who have lost their travel document (passport), or it has been stolen or rendered invalid, should appear in the Consular section of the Embassy of Latvia in London, phone: 020 7312 0040) in order to receive a Temporary Travel Document – a Return Certificate. This document certifies an identity of the person and allows him/her to return to Latvia.
A residence permit is a document providing a foreigner the rights to reside in the Republic of Latvia for a definite period of time (a temporary residence permit) or permanently (a permanent residence permit). A residence permit is necessary if a foreigner is willing to reside in the Republic of Latvia for a period of time exceeding 90 days within half a year counting from the first day of entrance.
