The Consular Section of the Kazakhstan Embassy in Prague provides consular assistance and services to overseas its citizens, which include citizen registration, identification documents and passport related matters, emergency travel documents, legalization of documents, etc. The Consulate also issues visas to foreign nations who wish to visit Kazakhstan and offers a range of other services and information on Kazakhstan.
Czech citizens DO NOT require an official invitation for a single business visa, tourist visas, single private visa (up to 30 day of validity).
Foreigner, wishing to stay more then 5 days, shall within 5 calendar days after entry into Kazakhstan register one's passport at a local police or a licensed Hotel. Those who registered at arrival at an international airport (at a border checkpoint), do not need to apply to police for registration. Foreigners, who has diplomatic, official or investor visa of Kazakhstan, shall register their stay at Foreign Ministry of Kazakhstan.
Persons coming to Kazakhstan on private, business, student, tourist visa are not entitled to work in the country. Work visas are issued only at Kazakhstan Consulates abroad. At a border checkpoint any foreigner above the age of 16, receives migration card, which is returned while exiting from Kazakhstan.
NOTE: Any category of visa is processed at least 5 working days.
Having received visa at a consular section you must check your visa after for proper completion of personal data and date of travel. Please note that the Consular Section is not responsible for any losses occurred due to possible errors in completing the application form. Visa documents must be applied personally. Consular section has the right to require the applicant to provide additional documents and, where appropriate, be invited to interview persons who request a visa, and to refuse a visa without assigning any reason. For children under 16 a visa is free of charge. The consular fee for a visa must be paid at the branch of ČSOB on bank account of the Embassy. Payments made by internet banking or bank transfer is not accepted. According to the Tax Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan paid consular fees are non-refundable.
The Embassy in Helsinki also provides legalization services. Documents submitted in a manner different from that of described above will not be accepted. Fees are subject to change at any time without prior notice. The process of legalization at the Embassy takes 7-10 working days from the time when all necessary documents have been received.
Theft or loss of a valid passport must be reported to the police and a police report should be presented when applying for a new passport. Otherwise a passport is applied as normally. When reporting a lost passport to the police it should be noted that a report made by telephone and a registration number given on the basis of that might not be adequate proof to the insurance company. The report can be made in person at a police station so that a report of the crime is available in writing.
