Consular services provided by the Embassy:

• Issuance of passports;
• Issuance of travel documents to return to Japan;
• Issuance of civil status certificates;
• Translation of driver's license;
• Issuance of certification of translation;
• Issuance of visas;
• Assistance to Japanese citizens in case of emergencies.

Citizens of the Philippines must obtain a visa to visit Japan. Tourist visa validity is three months from the date of issue.

Tourist visa requirements:

• Philippine passport;
• Visa application form;
• Photo;
• Birth certificate;
• If the applicant is married, marriage contract;
• Daily schedule in Japan;
• If visiting a friend, documents or photos to prove relationship;
• Invitation letter from guarantor in Japan;
• Bank certificate (if supporter has deposit in bank or income tax return);
• Income tax return (form 2316) original and photocopy (if supporter has deposit in bank or income tax return);
• If guarantor is Japanese, residence certificate;
• If guarantor is not Japanese, foreign registration certificate from city hall;
• Guarantee letter.

The Embassy is closed on public holidays.
