Consular section:
- Issues passports, national identity cards and other administrative documents;
- Updates vital records;
- Perform census of young French people and organize the Defense and Citizenship day;
- Is in charge of elections;
- Is responsible for informing foreigners wishing to travel to France and issues visas.
In case of lost or stolen travel documents abroad, French citizens must make a list of lost/stolen items and report it to the local police authorities. French mission may issue a temporary travel document to return to France.
Swedish citizens need to bring their Swedish passport with them when travelling to France but they do not need a visa. According to law 2003-1119 of 26 November 2003 concerning the stay of foreigners in France, as nationals of a Member of the European Union, Swedish citizens are exempt from any residence permit in France even beyond the three months of residence.
For safety reasons and for your own comfort, only the persons who are directly affected by the administrative process will be able to enter the Consulate (and if necessary, an escort whose assistance is absolutely necessary to the applicant). Suitcases, backpacks and luggage are prohibited. Objects which are not allowed on board of an aircraft are also prohibited at the Consulate.
The Embassy is closed on public holidays.
