It should be noted that the Embassy of France in the Hague has no consular section. Consular services are provided by the Consulate General of France in Amsterdam.

Consular services provided by the Consulate General of France:

• Issues passports, ID cards;
• Allows French citizens abroad to participate in nationa electoral events;
• Issues civil status certificates (birth, marriage, divorce);
• Registers French citizens abroad;
• Issues civil solidaryti pacts;
• Issues certificates of French nationality;
• Issues criminal record certificates.

Since 1 May 2009, visa section of the Consulate General of France in Amsterdam is closed. Visa applications are proccessed at the Consulate General of France in Brussels.

All foreign nationals wanting to come to France must be able to submit statutory documentary evidence at the border for the reasons for their stay, their means of support and accommodation arrangements. Dutch nationals are exempt from visa requirements to enter France for a period of up to 90 days.

Dutch nationals who wish to establish their habitual residence in France are no longer required to hold a residence permit. The possibility of requesting a residence permit remains however.

The Embassy is closed on public holidays.
