The Embassy of Finland in Beijing is accredited to China and Mongolia.

Consular services provided:

  • Assistance to Finnish citizens and foreigners permanently living in Finland;
  • Military service matters;
  • Issuance of passports;
  • Citizenship matters;
  • Notarial services;
  • Issuance of visas and residence permits;
  • Registers Finnish citizens abroad.

If Finnish passport is lost or stolen, it should be immediately reported to the local police. A police notification about the loss/theft of the passport will be needed when applying for a new passport at the Embassy or Consulate of Finland.

Chinese nationals need a visa to travel to Finland. Visas issued are generally uniform Schengen visas (type C) and can be issued for the maximum duration of 90 days.

If the intended stay exceeds 90 days, a residence permit has to be applied. As a general rule a residence permit is needed for work even for shorter time.

Mongolian nationals living in Mongolia need to apply for a visa to Finland from the Embassy of Germany in Ulan Bator.

Tourist visa requirements:

  • •    One coloured photograph attached to the application form.
  • •    Passport or other travel document, and one copy of the identification page.
  • •    Travel medical insurance, original + one copy of the certificate.
  • •    Bank statement.
  • •    Flight reservation.
  • •    Travel programme.
  • •    Proof of accommodation.
  • •    Original “Hukou” with photocopies of all the pages.
  • •    For non-Chinese visa applicant: copy of valid Chinese residence permit.

Payments by local Chinese debit and credit cards are accepted.

The Embassy is closed on public holidays.
