Danish Embassy's in Oslo main responsibilities are: to actively promote Danish views through analyzing and assessing the political and economic development in Norway to keep Danish authorities informed about the areas of particular interest to Denmark; to strengthen Danish exports and foreign investment activities between Denmark and Norway; to provide prompt and effective assistance to Danish citizens in Norway; to raise awareness of Denmark and Danish culture.

The Embassy provides these consular services:

• Issues passports;
• Deals with Danish citizenship matters;
• Allows Danish citizens abroad to participate in national electoral events;
• Issues visas;
• Issues driving license;
• Issues name change certificates;
• Registers Danish nationals abroad.

Citizens of Norway are exempt from the visa requirement when entering Denmark. Nordic citizens, i.e. citizens of Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden, are free to reside and work in Denmark. Citizens of other countries, who wish to visit Denmark for a short period of time, must obtain a visa prior to entry if they come from a country with a visa requirement for entering Denmark.

The Embassy of Denmark accepts credit/debit cards such as VISA, Axept, Master Card, and American Express. Payments can also be made to the account No. 8101 05 79015 with the Danske Bank, Norway. Cash payments are not accepted.
