Main priorities of the Czech Embassy in the Hague are to deepen and develop good relations between the Czech Republic and the Netherlands; to encourage trade and economic cooperation, focusing especially on cooperation in the field of science, research and innovation; to develop a dialogue on foreign and security policy and on EU affairs; to promote Czech Republic's interests in international organizations (OPCW, ICC, Permanent Court of Arbitration and the Hague Conference on Private International Law) and to monitor the work of UN tribunals (International Court of Justice, ICTY, International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda and the Special Tribunal for Lebanon); to promote the Czech Republic; to contribute to the Benelux V4 cooperation; to provide consular services to Czech nationals; to support the activities of the Czech community.

The Embassy provides these consular services:

  • Provides consular assistance and protection to Czech citizens and EU citizens in need of help;
  • Registers Czech citizens abroad;
  • Helps Czech citizens to get in contact with their relatives, friends in case of emergencies;
  • Issues emergency travel documents;
  • Deals with matters related to Czech citizenship;
  • Legalizes documents.

In case of lost/stolen Czech passport, the Embassy can issue an emergency travel document (a travel card) which will allow a citizen to return to the Czech Republic. The maximum period of validity of this document is 6 months but it is granted only for a necessary period of time.

Visa section of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in the Hague will be closed by December 31, 2010. The Embassy of the Czech Republic in the Hague informs that from January 1, 2010, applications for the visa to enter the Czech Republic and application for the long-term and permanent residency in the Czech Republic can be lodged only at visa sections of the Embassies of these Embassies of the Czech Republic in the Schengen area: Athens, Berlin, Bratislava, Madrid, Stockholm, Warsaw and Vienna. The regional visa centre for Netherlands is the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Brussels.

Citizens of Netherlands are exempt from visa requirements. Visa exemptions apply only to short stays up to 90 days of non-profit nature.

The Embassy is closed on weekends and public holidays.
