The Embassy covers mainland China except the provinces of Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Anhui, and the cities of Shanghai and Hong Kong, which are covered by Czech Consulates General.

Consular services provided by the Embassy:

  • Issues passports, driving licenses;
  • Deals with citizenship matters;
  • Issues birth, marriage certificates;
  • Allows Czech citizens to participate in national elections;
  • Provides the translation of documents;
  • Issues visas to foreigners;
  • Assists Czech citizens in cases of emergency.

In case of lost or stolen passport of the Czech Republic or any identification document, it should be immediately reported to the municipal office which issued the lost/stolen document or to the Embassy. A police report must also be obtained.

Citizens of China need visas to visit the Czech Republic.

Visa-free regime applies to holders of a "Hong Kong Special Administrative Region" passport and "Região Administrativa Especial de Macau" passport.

Application for a Schengen (short-term) visa can be filed within 3 months of the planned trip. Applications are in most cases reviewed within 5 days. In individual cases, the review period can be extended up to 30 days and in exceptional cases up to 60 days.

The Embassy including the visa section is closed during Czech national holidays.
