When the legitimate rights and interests of a Chinese citizen or legal person are violated in a receiving State, the Chinese diplomatic or consular mission there will reflect his/her request and urge the related authorities of that state to handle the issue in a fair, lawful, friendly and proper way through diplomatic channels in accordance with international conventions, bilateral treaties or agreements and the related laws of China and the receiving State.
Chinese Embassy provides these consular services:
- Accepts visa applications of ordinary passport holders for visiting mainland China;
- Legalizes and notarizes documents;
- Accepts applications for a new or renewed passport, travel document or Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) entry permit;
- Provides consular protection and assistance in matters related to: arrest/detention, accident, natural disaster, missing person.
If a Chinese passport is lost, stolen or seized, it should be immediately reported to the local police bureau and, if necessary, applied to the country of residence for exit visa.
As of July 5, 2012, visa processing time will be 4 working days for the passport holders of Netherlands.
From September 1, 2013, foreign nationals of 45 countries including The Netherlands can apply for the 72-hour transit visa exemption in ChengDu ShuangLiu Airport. The Netherlands' nationals with valid international traveling documents, the third country's (region's) visa (if necessary)and air ticket for a connecting flight with confirmed date of flight and seat for a third country (region) traveling within 72 hours from ShuangLiu Airport can stay in ChengDu city for 72 hours without a Chinese Visa.
Citizens holding ordinary passports of Netherlands and on a group tour (minimum of five persons) to Hainan Province for a stay of no longer than 15 days, organized by international travel services approved by the National Tourism Administration of China and registered in Hainan Province, do not need to apply for a visa.
