The Embassy provides consular services to Canadian citizens residing or travelling in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman, and Yemen.

Canadian Embassy provides these consular services:

• Assists Canadian citizens in cases of emergency;
• Registers Canadian citizens abroad;
• Issues and renews passports;
• Registers births of children abroad;
• Allows Canadian citizens abroad to participate in electoral events;
• Deals with adoption and citizenship matters.

If Canadian passport or travel document is lost or stolen, Canadian government offices abroad can issue an emergency travel document or a temporary passport if in urgent, proven need and stranded in a foreign country.

Saudi Arabian nationals are required to obtain a visa to visit Canada. Visa application requirements are:

• Application for temporary resident visa, duly completed.
• Completed family information, if applicable.
• Completed schedule 1 - application for temporary resident visa, if applicable.
• Statutory declaration of common-law union, if applicable.
• Use of a representative, if applicable.
• Fee payment in an acceptable format.
• Valid passport.
• Two photos.
• Photocopy of current immigration document, if applicable.
• Proof of financial support.
• Photocopy of valid return ticket and/or travel itinerary, if applicable.
• Minor traveling alone or with one parent: custody documents or a letter of authorization from the other non accompanying parent or a letter of authorization signed by both parents or legal guardians, if applicable.
• Any additional documents required by the responsible visa office.
• Optional: proof of completion of the upfront medical examination from the panel physician.

Method of payment can be in cash only for walk-in applications, and in case a credit card is not available (SAR). Personal cheques are not accepted.

The Embassy is closed on public holidays.
