Canadian Embassy provides these consular services:

  • Assists Canadian citizens in cases of emergency;
  • Registers Canadian citizens abroad;
  • Issues and renews passports;
  • Registers births of children abroad;
  • Allows Canadian citizens abroad to participate in electoral events;
  • Deals with adoption and citizenship matters.

If Canadian passport or travel document is lost or stolen, Canadian government offices abroad can issue an emergency travel document or a temporary passport if in urgent, proven need and stranded in a foreign country.

Visa services are provided to citizens of or persons legally admitted to Poland, Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia and Belarus.

As of September 4, 2013, applicants may need to give their biometrics (fingerprints and photograph) when submitting an application for a visitor visa.

Holders of biometric passports (e-passport) do not need a visa to visit or transit Canada. However, Polish citizens holding a non-biometric passport need a visa to visit Canada.

To visit Canada, applicants must:

  • have a valid travel document, such as a passport,
  • be in good health,
  • convince an immigration officer that they have ties - such as a job, home, financial assets or family - that will take them back to their home country,
  • convince an immigration officer that they will leave Canada at the end of their visit, and
  • have enough money for their stay.

Applicants may also need:

  • temporary resident (visitor) visa, depending on their citizenship,
  • medical exam and
  • letter of invitation from someone who lives in Canada.

The Embassy is closed on public holidays.
