Diplomatic missions of the Republic of Bulgaria abroad (such as embassies, consulates general, consulates and honorary consulates) provide consular assistance and consular services to Bulgarian citizens and legal entities abroad, as well as to citizens of the EU Member States that have no diplomatic missions in the host country, in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Bulgaria, the international treaties to which Bulgaria is a party, and the laws of the host country.

Bulgaria and France are committed to develop and intensify their cooperation in the political, economical, educational and cultural fields.

Consular services provided by the Embassy:

• Issuance of passports;
• Issuance of civil status documents;
• Legalization of documents;
• Notarial services;
• Issuance of visas;
• Issuance of identity cards;
• Issuance of driver's license;
• Issuance of temporary travel documents;
• Assistance to Bulgarian citizens in cases of emergency;
• Dealing with citizenship matters.  

In case Bulgarian citizen loses his/her passport abroad, Bulgarian Embassy may issue a temporary travel document which is valid for one year.

Citizens of France have the right to enter and reside in the Republic of Bulgaria for a period of no more than three months in any six-month period from the date of the first entry, without needing to have a Bulgarian short-stay visa.

The Embassy is closed on Public Holidays.
