The Brazilian Embassy in Stockholm is cumulative with Riga (Latvia). The Embassy endeavors to strengthen the friendship and the bilateral relations between Brazil and Sweden and Brazil and Latvia. The main tasks of the Embassy are representation, negotiation, information and promotion of Brazilian trade and tourism. The consular section of the Embassy provides documents and assistance to Brazilians, and delivers visas to foreign citizens wishing to travel to Brazil.

Consular services provided by the Embassy:

  • Assistance to Brazilian citizens abroad in cases of emergency;
  • Issuance of visas;
  • Notarial services;
  • Issues civil status certificates;
  • Assistance in case of detention, imprisonment or death of a Brazilian citizen;
  • Issuance of passports;
  • Dealing with military service matters;
  • Allowing Brazilian citizens abroad to participate in electoral events;
  • Dealing with Brazilian citizenship matters;
  • Legalization of documents.

In case of loss, theft or destruction of a Brazilian passport, it should be immediately reported to the Brazilian authority that issued the passport or the nearest Brazilian Embassy or Consulate. It is also recommended to keep a photocopy of a passport which helps when applying for a new passport.

Swedish nationals don't need a tourist visa and can stay in Brazil up to 90 days within a period of 180 days.

Payments shall be made in Swedish kronor in favor of "Brazilian Embassy in Stockholm". For applicants in Latvia payments shall be made in Swedish kronor, via SWIFT bank transfer, in favor of "Brazilian Embassy in Stockholm". Payments in cash, money order, credit/debit cards or checks are not accepted. The payment will be returned to the applicant's account if the necessary documents are not sent to the consular sector of the Embassy within 30 days.
