  • Allows Brazilian citizens to participate in national electoral events;
  • Allows Brazilian citizens living abroad to enlist for military service;
  • Issues visas;
  • Issues ordinary passports;
  • Legalizes documents.
Depending on the purpose of visit and on the visitor's nationality, a visa is not required to enter Brazil. Dutch citizens on a tourism or business trip to Brazil are exempt from visa requirements. Even if exempt from a visa, upon arrival to Brazil a passport valid for at least 6 months is required. Additionally, foreign nationals may be required by the Brazilian

Migration Police to meet the following conditions:
  • Prove they have sufficient funds for their term of stay;
  • Demonstrate their travel objective (for instance, hotel reservation, roundtrip ticket).
Travelers older that six months are recommended to take vaccination against yellow fever 10 days before the trip, if their destination in Brazil includes one of these states: Acre, Amapa, Amazonas, Bahia (west and south), Distrito Federal, Espirito Santo (north), Goiás, Maranhão, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Minas Gerais, Pará, Parana (west), Piaui (south), Rio Grande do Sul (west), Rondonia, Roraima, Santa Catarina (west), São Paulo (west), Tocantins.
