The Consular Section of the Embassy maintains night shifts in case of an emergency occurring to Brazilian citizens outside the office hours. Cases that are not considered emergencies: lost or misplaced passport, information on deadlines for processing visa applications and other routine consular services.

All Canadian passport holders require a visa to enter Brazil.  This requirement is in reciprocity to Canada's government requirement that all Brazilian citizens hold a visa in order to enter Canada. Citizens of countries that do not require visas from Brazilian nationals usually do not need visas to enter Brazil.

Applications received by mail or by courier from outside the jurisdiction of the Embassy will be returned to the sender. Tourist and business visa applications submitted in person by residents from other regions are acceptable.

The estimated processing time for most types of visa is 10 working day, plus delivery time if applied though mail.  It is recommend that airline tickets, travel dates, cruises and tours, business meetings and all activities be planned taking into account the processing time.  Please, be advised that there are no rush or emergency fees.

The Embassy of Brazil only accepts certified cheques or money orders as methods of payments for any consular service.

It is recommended that all Brazilians living abroad, even temporarily, provide their registration with the nearest consular representation.
