Consular services provided by the Embassy:

• Registration of Belgian citizens abroad;
• Issuance of passports;
• Issuance of emergency travel documents;
• Legalization of documents;
• Issuance of visas;
• Issuance of electronic identity cards;
• Notarial services;
• Issuance of civil status certificates;
• Assistance to Belgian citizens.

If a Belgian passport or identity card has been lost or stolen, it should be reported to the nearest police station. A police notification about the loss/theft of the Belgian passport must be obtained. It will be needed when applying for an emergency travel document at the Embassy of Belgium.

For foreigners: when the visa payment has been made and a proof of payment has been presented, the Embassy of Belgium in Stockholm sends the application documents to the Embassy of Belgium in Helsinki for central processing.

For Swedish citizens: within the Schengen-zone, a valid passport with a valid Swedish residence permit (uppehållstillstånd) allows a short-term (less than 90 days) tourist visit to Belgium. It does not, however, allow a stay for work or study.

The Embassy is closed on public holidays.
