Registration at the Embassy is not compulsory but it facilitates greatly the service of your administrative requests and it can make the difference in emergency cases. It entitles you to vote in the federal elections in Belgium and allows the Embassy to issue official certificates regarding the details of your stay in Singapore (such as address, registration date, etc...).

If Belgian citizens lose or have their passport stolen abroad, they need to:

• Call Doc-Stop to cancel their passport and protect themselves against any fraudulent use of their identity: 00800 2123 2123.
• Notify the local police about the loss/theft immediately. Ask for a statement confirming the loss/theft.
• If they need a passport to return to Belgium, contact the Belgian embassy or consulate in the country they are visiting.
• If they have been unable to notify the local police about the loss/theft while they were abroad, do so with their police station as soon as they return to Belgium.

Requirements for Saudi nationals + (GCC) going on tourism to Belgium and/or to Luxembourg:

• One duly and legibly completed, signed and dated application form.
• Two recent passport-sized photographs resembling the applicant's current look.
• Passport, bearing the signature of the holder, valid for at least 3 months after the expiration date of the requested visa; (passport copy + copy of previous visas Schengen).
• Valid Saudi identity card + a photocopy of it.
• Non-transferable and non-refundable return plane ticket + photocopy (to be produced at the latest when collecting the visa); flight reservation is important while applying.
• In case of hotel accommodation: confirmation of a hotel reservation in Belgium or in Luxembourg;
• In case of accommodation in a private home: binding agreement drawn up on the appropriate formular by the host in Belgium acting as sponsor, whose signature has been legalized by the relevant municipality in Belgium.
• Job certificate.
• Verifiable evidence of sufficient means (credit cards, bank statements) or binding agreement by a sponsor in Belgium.
• Comprehensive health/travel insurance (minimum coverage Euro 30.000 per person).

Visa fees are not refundable and have to be paid cash in SAR when applying for the visa.
