Travel Permit/Documents are issued to Bangladeshi nationals who for some reason are not in possession of their Bangladeshi Passport and want to return to Bangladesh. The fee for an urgent Travel Permit is £16. The Permit is normally issued the next day (from 15.00 - 16.30).
Power of attorney service can be availed by either of the following methods:
- Signing the power of attorney documents in front of the Consular Officer of Bangladesh High Commission;
- Signing the power of attorney documents in front of a solicitor/Barrister/Notary Public/Commissioner for Oath, and letter, attested by Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO)
In case of obtaining the power of attorney regarding land property in Bangladesh, the document signed by the High Commission must be attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dhaka before submission to the concerned Deputy Commissioner's (DC) office.
To apply for Bangladesh visa, applications must be submitted to the High Commission in a prescribed visa application form in duplicate along with 2 recent passport size photographs and original passport. Documentary evidence of identification in support of profession is a must. Incomplete application form or application with incorrect information/insufficient supporting papers will be rejected without citing any reason.
The applicant should pay the visa fees by postal order/bank draft (payable to BHC)/ Debit/Credit card at the counter of the consular of Bangladesh High Commission.
It takes at least 5 working days to process the Visa.
NOTE: If the applicant is a British-Bangladeshi and holding a valid British passport, then he/she is eligible for a long-term 'No Visa Required' sticker for visiting Bangladesh.
