Services provided by the Austrian diplomatic mission:

In case Austrian passport is lost or stolen abroad, it must be reported to the local police. A police notification will be required when applying for a new passport or a temporary travel document.

Nationals of Saudi Arabia require a valid visa or a residence permit to travel to Austria.

Visa submission can only be three month before the travel date and the whole visa procedure can take up to one month.

Due to the implementation of the biometric data (VIS system) since the 1 of October 2012, all visa applicants have to appear personally at the Austrian Embassy in order to submit fingerprints. Austrian Embassy requires that visa applicants make online appointments for their visa application to assure them a smooth and short proceeding time.

Saudi citizens going to Austria for tourism must provide:

• Application form completely and correctly filled in and signed by the applicant.
• Two recent color photos, according to ICAO rules (a 3,5 x 4,5 white-background, frameless photo without a head cover for men).
• Passport valid at least three months after expiry date of the requested visa, signed by the holder, plus copy in each application of all relevant pages (data page, pages of previous Schengen visas).
• Verifiable evidence of sufficient means of subsistence during intended stay such as a credit card valid throughout the intended stay.
• Health/travel insurance, covering at least 30,000 Euro, for the whole duration of travel, without any limitations (original plus copy in each application) & travel insurance declaration which can be downloaded from the Embassy's website. It's also available as a hard copy at the Austrian Embassy.
• Copy of the flight ticket or confirmed booking (copy in each application).
• Hotel reservation confirmed by the hotel or other proof of accommodation for the whole duration of travel.
