The Austrian Embassy offers a wide range of consular services to Austrian as well as Lithuanian citizens.

For Lithuanian citizen the Embassy provides information about traveling and staying in Austria with regards to pets, visa requirements, travel advice, toll, stay, work or study, humanitarian shipments, weapons, radios, customs, medicaments.

Those who want to work in Austria require an adequate labor-market regulatory approval (For more information on employment of new EU citizens and EU citizens can be found on the website of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Labour https://www.en.bmwfj.gv.at). EEA nationals hence Lithuanians have the right to move freely and stay no longer than for three months in Austria. The same rule applies for traveling through or crossing the border.

The Embassy also deals with other standard consular issues. Austrians living in Lithuania or even if only temporary residing should contact the Embassy to get registered. The Consular Section provides assistance in obtaining passports. However, the process might take approximately 3-4 weeks, as the new EU passports cannot be issued at the Embassy, due to technical circumstances. The Embassy provides notary services, such as certifications of authentication of signatures and certified copies. In cases of childbirth, death or change of name, one should also contact the Embassy for further procedures or necessary documentation.
