Pilgrim School:
Pilgrim School, a division of the First Congregational Church of Los Angeles, is an ethnically and culturally diverse, independent, co-educational, college preparatory day school in Wilshire Center for students in preschool through to the twelfth grade. We are located approximately 3 - 4 miles west of downtown Los Angeles, CA. Pilgrim School offers a traditional college preparatory curriculum, emphasizing the mastery of fundamental skills and critical thinking at all levels, from preschool through high school. Founded in 1958, our school attracts a student body as varied as the city's population. Our rigorous curriculum begins in preschool and grows increasingly demanding through to grade 12.
Pilgrim School is accredited by Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) California Association of Independent Schools (CAIS), and is a member of the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) Council for Religion in Independent Schools (CRIS).
Our Mission:
The school’s mission is to provide a superior interdisciplinary education, designed to enable students to attain the skills necessary to become self-sufficient, creative and independent thinkers, as well as responsible, ethical and socially conscious citizens.
About Us:
At Pilgrim School, small classes ensure that all students receive extensive personal attention from their teachers. Whether it is guiding a Junior Kindergartener through rhyming sounds, coaching fourth graders in team sports, helping middle school students learn organizational strategies or guiding our high school students through the college application process, Pilgrim has a team of professional and caring faculty and staff members to work with your student.
Pilgrim also provides all of its students—not just the most gifted—with the opportunity to participate in sports, the arts, and a wide array of extracurricular activities. Through exposure to the Judeo-Christian tradition, students realize the blessings of faith and hope, without imposing religious uniformity. By welcoming, honoring, and recognizing the contributions of students of all religious, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds we inspire students to be respectful, ethical, and contributing members of society.
