Hamburg School of English:
The Hamburg School of English is a Teacher Training Centre in Hamburg in Northern Germany. We provide intensive English language teacher training courses leading to the internationally-recognised Cambridge ESOL CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) certificate. Our four-week intensive CELTA courses are offered throughout the year and consist of 120 contact hours. The CELTA programme is an accredited and internationally recognised qualification issued by Cambridge ESOL. CELTA is widely recognised thoughout the world as an initial qualification in English language teaching.
CELTA Courses in Hamburg:
There are 120 contact hours. This can be completed intensively (usually over four weeks) or part-time (often over three months). In either case, the course is conducted over 20 working days. In addition to this trainees can expect to spend about 80 hours working on lesson planning, assignments and other course related work and about 20 hours on pre-course tasks.
CELTA is widely recognised thoughout the world as an initial qualification in English language teaching. Over 10,000 people successfully complete CELTA courses each year. CELTA certificates are awarded by The University of Cambridge English for Speakers of Other Languages examinations department (Cambridge ESOL).
Our Trainers:
Our tutors have experience in teaching and training in different settings. All our trainers have worked in Germany for several years and have taught business English courses for major German corporations.
In addition to their experience as language teachers and teacher trainers, all members of the training team have experience in educational mangement in language schools. This means they combine pedagogical expertise in both general and business English teaching with awareness of what employers expect from newly trained teachers.
Hamburg School of English was established 21 years ago and the Teacher Training Centre was founded in 2003. Our tutors have gained their ELT (English language training) experience in different settings; they are particularly interested in materials-light teaching and they present at conferences and to local teachers' associations on this and other areas nationally and internationally.
