Located in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, in the south-west of England, Inlingua Cheltenham is a private international language school that offers TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) Certificate & Diploma courses, as well as a wide range of English language courses to both UK and international students. We offer our Trinity Certificate in TESOL as a 4-week, full time course. We also provide a Trinity TESOL Diploma course, as well as Business English teaching programmes and Refresher courses for experienced teachers.

TESOL / TEFL English Teacher Training Courses:

Trinity Certificate in TESOL:
The Trinity Certificate in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) also sometimes known as TEFL or TESL is designed for those with either little, or no previous teaching experience. The course is predominantly practical and afternoons are dedicated to teaching practice.

The TESOL is the initial teaching qualification enabling candidates to teach English as a second language. inlingua Cheltenham are an approved and validated TESOL centre, moderated by Trinity College London one of the main principal awarding bodies for TEFL Courses.

This full time, intensive four week programme, taught by very highly qualified and experienced course tutors, provides candidates with a practical grounding in teaching techniques, skills and methodology through a combination of seminars, lectures and extensive supervised teaching practice. The course involves over 130 timetabled hours and includes approximately 20 hours of observed teaching practice with English language students.

The course is limited to 12 participants, which helps to create a friendly and personal atmosphere.

To apply for this course all applicants:

- Must be 18+years of age.
- Hold qualifications that enable them to apply for higher education (University entrance level).
- Non native speakers of English who wish to apply must hold an IELTS level 7 or the equivalent.

Trinity College London Diploma in TESOL:
We offer the Trinity College London Diploma in TESOL course as both part time and full time blended learning programmes. This course involves distance learning with the use of MOODLE, which is a free online learning system. Course tutors upload tasks and homework and therefore candidates can complete their work at their own pace.

This is the ideal way in which to gain this qualification as it means you have the chance to work and study at the same time. Candidates will be required to attend at least a 3 week residential block at inlingua Cheltenham in order to prepare for the written exam paper and take part in teaching practice.

In order to apply for this course candidates must:
- Have a degree or the equivalent.
- Hold a cert TESOL/CELTA or the equivalent qualification.
- Have at least 1 /2 years relevant ELT experience.

Each candidate will have to complete a pre-course task and attend a face to face interview before we can guarantee a place on the course.

Cert.IBET (Certificate in International Business English Training):
The Cert IBET (Certificate in International Business English Teaching) is an international qualification offered in partnership by English UK and Trinity College London, which has been designed to meet the needs of Business English teachers to enhance their skills and expertise. 

inlingua Cheltenham offers this course as a 50 hour blended learning programme conducted in 2 phases. The first phase is conducted phase to face over 5 days at inlingua Cheltenham. The second phase is conducted through MOODLE the free online learning system.

The course focuses on Business English, the concepts of language in a Business context, Needs Analysis and Research, Materials and Resources, Internationalism, Course and Syllabus design, Methods and Approaches, Assessment and Evaluation and Business English Communication Skills.

TEFL Refresher Course:
This course is aimed at both native and non native EFL teachers who would like to revise and 'refresh' their teaching techniques and skills.

Study options available:

1) General English with TEFL Techniques:  This course is specifically designed for non native English teachers. It can be taken as a 1 or 2 week course. Participants will study General English in the morning to improve their language ability and then study TEFL techniques in the afternoons to develop their teaching skills.

2) 1 Week TEFL Refresher:  This course is aimed at both non-native and native ELT. Participants will study TEFL techniques over this one week course to enhance their Skills and confidence.

3) 2 Week TEFL Refresher with Specialised Teaching Techniques:  This course is aimed at native and non native English teachers. Participants will study TEFL refresher techniques in the first week followed by specialist teaching areas such as teaching young learners, preparing tests and business English during the second week.

This course is aimed at EFL teachers who would like to enhance their teaching skills skills and improve their confidence. All options take place at our centre in Cheltenham either on a full time 1 week or 2 week basis running Monday to Friday 9-5 pm.
